This dessert is ridiculously simple and quite tasty. The amounts are more of an estimate, as I didn't used any predetermined amounts, but just basically what I thought. I've done the best to estimate the amounts.
About 10-12 strawberries
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 more tablespoons of sugar
1 lemon, zest only
1 small container of Mascarpone Cheese (found in the deli of most markets)
2-3 tablespoons of Limoncello (an Italian liquer - quite lemony and quite strong)
1 package of pre-made pastry shells (found in the bakery)
Remove the tops of the strawberries and quarter them. Put them in a bowl, add the sugar and toss. Set aside in the fridge.
Just before service, combine the mascarpone, two tablespoons of sugar, lemon zest, and limoncello. Mix with a spoon until smooth.
On a plate, place a pastry shell, then spoon some of the mascarpone on top and then add the strawberries. There will be a syrup at the bottom of the bowl that can be used as a sauce.
An addition to the mascarpone mixture could be some finely chopped fresh rosemary.
